Unless you are quite happy for your business to just keep "ticking over," it is likely that you will be looking for ways to develop and grow your business. These three, simple but effective steps can set you off in the right direction.
1. Review your business plan - we know, we know, you all say but many businesses don't do this! A regular assessment of your business plan enables you to measure your progress. Are you achieving your goals? Reconsider where you want to be this time next year and decide how you'll get there. If you have employees, involve them. Set new objectives and growth strategies, if necessary.
2. Penetrate your existing market - many businesses concentrate most of their marketing efforts on attracting new customers. However, looking at the customers that you already have and ways in which you can get people who are already buying from you to buy more, is cheaper and easier than selling to new customers. 3. Make your customers feel special - customers respond to being recognised, especially in the busy, hustle of bustle of everyday life. Even with a web based business, good customer service is possible. This can be done in a variety of ways - e.g write a thank you note to a customer, letting them know that you appreciate their business or send a gift to a loyal customer on a special occasion.
